Why seven strands?
These are geographical research strands, not seven separate family trees. Connected surnames stay within the relevant strand, and unresolved people can be marked “Connection being researched” rather than forced into the wrong group.
| Strand | Current name | Main research area |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Middle England | Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and surrounding counties, including Preston Bissett, Fringford and related research. |
| 2 | London | Aldgate, Stepney, Mile End and wider London family material. |
| 3 | Essex | Southminster, Bradwell-on-Sea and surrounding Essex; includes the ongoing Brassett/Brasted research question. |
| 4 | Canada | Canadian family connections and the historic worldwide Brassett.net network. |
| 5 | USA | United States branches, including Louisiana research and unresolved connections. |
| 6 | India | Walter Brassett and descendants connected with India. |
| 7 | Australasia | Australia and New Zealand, including migration and family research leads. |
Origins & branches live inside the strands
Each strand can contain its origins, people, places, branches, documents, timeline entries and open research questions. This replaces separate competing “Origins” and “Branches” sections.
